We take a mold of your teeth and make thin, custom-fitted trays. You wear them at home with a professional carbamide-peroxide gel, usually for a set time each day or overnight, and the shade lifts gradually over one to two weeks. Because the trays fit your teeth exactly, the gel stays where it belongs and off your gums, which is the main advantage over drugstore strips.

No. Whitening lightens natural enamel only. Crowns, veneers, bonding and tooth-colored fillings keep the shade they were made in, so if you have visible dental work on front teeth we plan around it, sometimes by whitening first and then matching new work to the brighter shade.
How long does teeth whitening last?

Who should not whiten their teeth?
Patients who are pregnant or nursing, children under 16, anyone with untreated cavities or gum disease, and anyone whose front teeth are mostly crowns or veneers should hold off or choose a different plan. The free exam is where we sort that out.
