This exam is also important because we need to make sure that you don’t have any infections that need to be dealt with first.

If you do, we will incorporate it into your treatment plan to ensure that by the time we start fixing the cosmetic issues, your teeth and gums are entirely healthy.

At the beginning of your makeover, we will typically suggest whitening your teeth.  As a Fort Worth dentist, we perform teeth whitening procedures on a regular basis and find that this is perhaps the easiest way to change the appearance of your teeth.

By removing the dark stains and turning yellow teeth into white ones, we can take years off of your appearance and help you to look healthier, in general.  A professional teeth whitening can brighten your teeth by eight shades or more so the results are dramatic.

With this in mind, some of our patients decide they like their new smile and don’t need any other dental work. Simultaneously, if your plan includes placing a veneer or crown on one or two teeth, it is important to whiten them first because both of these are made in a dental lab to match the surrounding teeth.

If your teeth are yellow, your veneer and crown will be made in that same shade which won’t help your smile.

After your teeth are perfectly white, we can move onto the more major dental procedures.  For example, if you have gaps in between your teeth we can close them using a dental veneer or crown.

A veneer is a thin shell that is placed on top of your teeth where a crown is a cap that surrounds them.  Both accomplish similar things and can be used to close gaps in between your teeth along with changing the shape and size of your teeth.

They are natural looking so that once placed, no one will be able to tell you had dental work done.  Simultaneously, these solutions can also cover any dark stains that didn’t come up with whitening and even be used to make your teeth appear straighter.

If you have missing teeth, these solutions won’t work but a dental bridge or implants can be used instead.
